This painting
dovetails beautifully with the Triple Goddess archetype: the woman on
the left seems to be drinking from the cup (the Maiden, savoring new
experience, sipping from the Grail?), the central figure (obviously
the Mother) holds an infant, and the figure on the right is seated
next to a vessel (the Crone with her repository of wisdom, the
cauldron of knowledge).
