Neo-Paganism
is a contemporary religion with ancient roots, a celebratory
Nature-based religion which draws inspiration from many sources:
history, archaeology, art, folklore, mythology, psychology, ecology, etc.
Our holy days and
rituals are based on the natural cycles of the sun, the moon, and the
turning of the seasons, and rites of passage celebrate the different
phases of our lives. Most Pagans honor some form of the Divine
Feminine, the Goddess; we are generally pantheistic and/or polytheistic.
Loosely
constructed with no central authority, the religion allows for
personalized spiritual development. The details of belief and
practice may vary widely among individual Pagans; we identify
ourselves as a group based on a shared love for Nature, mythology,
etc. rather than specific tenets of theology or dogma.
Pagans don't claim
to practice the "only true religion" and are not interested
in trying to convert anyone, but we enjoy spiritual dialogue and will
gladly answer questions or clear up misconceptions.
