The evocation of
Plaid is surely not for the novice. Any spirit identifying itself as
a kind and benevolent Plaid Satin must be exorcised immediately as an
abomination. However, if your aura is strong enough to inhibit such a
manifestation, the evocation of Plaid can lead to the charming and
playful holiday spirit Plaid Taffeta. Best in small doses, but a
party diety all the same. Additionally, there is the most sacred of
all Plaid manifestation... the kilt. Only the Ippissimus can glimpse
a good looking scot in a kilt without betraying a smile =)

just me, or have others noticed the alarming regularity of double

ahhhh
Summer....you do not know just how frightening a thing this is....in
the 1970s ...we endured an onslaught from the Polyester Party. They
assaulted us with things such as the Leisure Suit, Banlon Slacks, the
one piece Jumpsuit...which by the way was a secret way of recognizing
spies...only spies were able to hold their water...a most unnatural
thing...for an entire day and evening....this Jumpsuit was their
geatest protection in preventing them from mating with the general populace.
With the advent of
their secret weapon, Disco Music, they almost did us in. The
Polyester Party even went so far as to take over the Rebuplican Party
in the late 70s and managed to elect one of their own to the highest
office in our land ...when this was almost discovered, the Polyester
Party wisely decided to go underground and still maintained their
strength by working behind the scenes and made heavy use of blended
materials...they also invested heavily in the largest market for
artificial materials...the Credit Card.....do you think mere
coincidence that the Reagan Era sparked such high credit card usage....hardly...
preserving the old
ways fell to pagans and bikers....alas...this may happen again....as
we watch the nefarious Polyester Party try and influence our
young...those innocents who are so unaware of the dangers we face
with those Polyester blouses and bell bottoms....
well...this pagan
vows here and now to do her all to dispell the power over our young
that Polyester may hold...here's hoping that we are not too late.....

Dearest Sewers
Well I was just
speaking with some folks putting together an onlione Pagan community
seriously---- they asked me to invite our Temple to have a web page
space is offered for FREE! and they even have gold and blue Satin
background gifs for our use.
Yes--I'm serious
SEW serious As a novice who is VERY bad at sewing and doesn't even
know enough fabric related terminolgy to say much here--I could not
do it myself. But I would be glad to do the leg work (finding
appropriate graphics, putting stuff together ploading to the site)
for any elder who cared to develop the page content. They are also
seeking contacts among the Hectaflabbagonians.
For now I will
serve as a contact for any interested parties... BTW they are also
known to be looking for contact with --get this some certain BAT!
Anyway they will be launching the pages right before Samhain. It
would be great to have something for then.
Any Interest Sewers?
just email me and
let me know what should be on the page and whatI should do to help.

And yea, verily
the Goddess of pleasant fabrics did spake, saying unto us:
Go forth,
forward, and spread the joyous news, that I have given unto thee
silk, and leather, and satin
And fall
not into the temptation of synthetics, for all things natural are my rites
And ever
mindful be thee, that the ways of temptation are many
And lo, a
great and evil prophet shall rise among you
Bearing his
gifts of joy while being wrapped in the greatest of all evils, the
polyester jumpsuit
And ever
mindful of him should you be, lest thee be cast into the pit of synthetics,
And forever
bound up in yards of fuscia, plaid and rhinestone
These are
the gifts I have given thee
And thus the
Goddess of Pleasant Fabrics spake, and it was good.

Doth such a one
wear the latex upon his own person?
Or doth he scheme
to see it worn upon another?
Latexicon is a
wily beast, often afflicting the eyes. If your friend but wishes to
see the spawn of Latexicon upon another, he may yet be saved. But
should he wish to wear it upon his own flesh, I fain would counsel
thee to seek an Exorcist.

<<Latex, for
example. Is Latex actually a fabrick?>>
Nay! Latexicon is
a subtle spirit. It is only safe to have congress with such its
liquid form, but only if eventually it be removed in diverse and
entertaining ways.
<< Is it
appropriate for fabricites to worship at the feet of Rubberia? >>
It is only
appropriate when a spawn of Rubberia is layed upon the floor to keep
it dry whilst thy servant pedicures thy feet.
<<And what
about Leather? >>
Leather is most
fitting to wear upon thy person, or to cause it to be worn by
another. Suede is acceptable, though of questionable taste in most
situations. The placement of black suede shoelace upon thy servant's
person is a time honored tradition amongst the Sisterhood.

His fall from the

dabasement among the stretch fabrics was a tragedy.

Clotho, Lachesis, Atropos:
Urdr, Verthandi, Skuld.
Our pagan fabric manifests
Three aspects here unfold.
Beginner thinks
that fabric types
Are seams to pick apart,
But now we see
that fabric's use
Lies closest to
the heart.
Makers are first.
Here weavers work,
Knitters, sewers, crochet.
These follow
Clotho, never shirk,
And labor night
and day.
Wearers are next,
Lachesis' kin.
The Pookha here
holds sway
O'er clothes-horse
costumers who skin
Martha (Stewart),
Mary (Kaye).
Mystics are third,
those who get high
On fabric's look
and touch.
Here latex,
leather, satin vie
With velvet, silk,
and such.
No worshiper need
choose one single path,
Maiden, Mother,
and Crone together laugh.
